Global action days (9- 15 November ). Day 3: let's take some action!

After learning about the climate change,its causes effects an future impact  we decided to take action. ..

First we created a motivational poster to raise  awareness to  our parents,neighbors and local community....

Next, we decided  to grow our own vegetable  garden in order to reduce food miles, CO2  and go local!

We also  add some new plants ( Cretan herbs)  to our botanic garden....we had to prepare the soil, add compost and dig some holes.... 

"dirty" work but we enjoyed every single minute'!

Global Action Days For Our Eco 1st Kindergarten of Mournies

As members of the 
ECO SCHOOLS global network we share a common hope:
"Ensure young people have power to be the change for sustainability that our world needs by engaging them in fun, action-orientated and socially responsible learning. The programme’s greatest achievement is arguably the fact that it produces generation after generation of sustainably minded, environmentally conscious people. These individuals will carry the behavioural patterns they uptake under the auspices of Eco-Schools with them through life, in turn teaching the next generation the habits to make a difference.Each school follows a seven step change process and empowers their young people to lead processes and actions wherever they can."

This year action plan  for our global action days (9- 15 November) will be focused on climate change.

("This year the Climate Conference known as COP21 takes place in Paris. The conference is about all governments agreeing to a deal to significantly reduce man-made Climate Change".)
