Το κλίμα μας αλλάζει... ρύποι, διοξείδιο του άνθρακα (CO2)

Ο αέρας που αναπνέουμε δεν είναι πάντα καθαρός. Τα εργοστάσια βγάζουν καπνό και δηλητηριώδη αέριο από τις καμινάδες τους, τα αυτοκίνητα γεμίζουν την πόλη καυσαέρια, η φωτιά στα δάση και στο τζάκι των σπιτιών βρομίζουν τον αέρα.Το ίδιο και τα σκουπίδια.  Όλα αυτά ρυπαίνουν την ατμόσφαιρα κι είναι βλαβερά για τους ανθρώπους, τα ζώα και τα φυτά.

"Σκασιαρχείο" στο φυσικό περιβάλλον έξω από το σχολείο μας:      

Παρατηρώντας την φύση καταλάβαμε  σε ποιο βαθμό έχει φτάσει η ρύπανση στην δική μας περιοχή

Με αυτό το απλό πείραμα διαπιστώσαμε ότι ο αέρας που αναπνέουμε δεν είναι και τόσο καθαρός. Τοποθετήσαμε 7 καπάκια σε ένα άσπρο χαρτί έξω στην πίσω γωνιά έξω στο σχολείο μας. Κάθε μέρα αφαιρούσαμε ένα καπάκι. Οι επιφάνεια γύρω από τα καπάκια κάθε μέρα ήταν πιο σκούρα.

Ζωγραφίσαμε τους ατμοσφαιρικούς ρύπους χρησιμοποιώντας την φαντασία μας και το λογισμικό έκφρασης και δημιουργίας Revelation natural art

δημιουργήσαμε  "χλωμός άνθρωπος με μάσκα "

το κλίμα μας αλλάζει...ο καιρός τρελάθηκε ;

 Καταιγίδα ανεμοστρόβιλος ξηρασία χιονοθύελλα καύσωνας... αυξάνεται η θερμοκρασία της γης!

Οι πάγοι λιώνουν , τα ζώα κινδυνεύουν από θάνατο!

Εμείς, οι μικροί πολίτες της Γης; Τι μπορούμε να κάνουμε;

Κάποιοι νομίζουν  ότι δεν είμαστε ικανοί  να καταφέρουμε κάποια αλλαγή ή ακόμα ότι δεν έχουμε κάποια ευθύνη για την κλιματική αλλαγή.

 Όμως δεν είναι έτσι:

• με την ενημέρωση, την ευαισθητοποίηση και την ενεργοποίηση  μπορούμε να έχουμε ένα πολύ μεγάλο συνολικό αποτέλεσμα : μπορούμε να ζούμε με σεβασμό στο περιβάλλον
• με τις δράσεις μας  αποτελούμε  παράδειγμα, που  εμπνέει και την υπόλοιπη τοπική κοινωνία 

  Ζωγραφίσαμε την επιθυμία μας :  
Αν δεν γίνεται τώρα που είμαι μικρός, όταν θα μεγαλώσω,  Θα πηγαίνω στο σχολείο με το ποδήλατο μου  

Συζητήσαμε και καταγράψαμε τις ανάγκες του κήπου μας

                            

  Δημιουργήσαμε ομάδες και πρόγραμμα και καθημερινά φροντίζουμε να είναι η αυλή μας ο κήπος μας και ο εξωτερικός χώρος του σχολείου μας καθαρός , χωρίς σκουπίδια 

Μάθαμε ότι και τα απορρίμματα επηρεάζουν το κλίμα.

Για να φτιάξουμε ένα προϊόν, που κάποια στιγμή πάει στα απορρίμματά μας, καταναλώνουμε ενέργεια και παράγουμε CO2. Όταν όμως διαχειριστούμε με διαφορετικό τρόπο τα «απορρίμματα», εξοικονομούμε αυτή την ενέργεια!

Εμείς δεν αφήνουμε τίποτα να πάει χαμένο!Ξεκινήσαμε συλλογή από χρήσιμα"σκουπίδια" 

Μάθαμε την συνταγή για το ¨στιφάδο της γης¨(κόμποστ) και την γράψαμε για να την μάθουν και οι γονείς μας , ώστε να μας βοηθήσουν στην συλλογή των υλικών . Θα γίνουμε "μάγειρες της φύσης"

Φτιάξαμε με ανακυκλώσιμα υλικά την "Μαγειρένια Κομποστάκη"

 Αποφασίσαμε να μαζεύουμε το νερό της βροχής 

Μάθαμε ότι τα φυτά, εκτός από την ομορφιά που προσφέρουν, παίζουν πολύ σημαντικό ρόλο για το περιβάλλον! Τα φυτά απορροφούν το CO2,. Η παρουσία και μόνο των φυτών διαμορφώνει το μικροκλίμα, το κλίμα δηλαδή που έχουμε σε μία πολύ συγκεκριμένη περιοχή, κάνοντάς το πιο δροσερό.Φυτέψαμε τον λαχανόκηπο μας

Παρουσιάσαμε στους μεγάλους τις δράσεις μας !

Global action days (9- 15 November ). Day 4: The day that we connected food miles with climate change....

We love fruits and Veggies!
But it was today that we connected food miles and the estimated amount of CO2  emited  in the air when they "fly" to Greece...
It was then that we decided to grow our own vegetable garden, not only for healthy eating, and  increasing  green in our school, but also for acting local (support local farming) in order to join the fight against climate change!

      

Global action days (9- 15 November ). Day 3: let's take some action!

After learning about the climate change,its causes effects an future impact  we decided to take action. ..

First we created a motivational poster to raise  awareness to  our parents,neighbors and local community....

Next, we decided  to grow our own vegetable  garden in order to reduce food miles, CO2  and go local!

We also  add some new plants ( Cretan herbs)  to our botanic garden....we had to prepare the soil, add compost and dig some holes.... 

"dirty" work but we enjoyed every single minute'!

Global action days (9- 15 November) "Let's Ask A Scientist" Ημέρα 1η: Πώς θα μάθουμε για την κλιματική αλλαγή;

DAY  1. What is the "climate change"? How can we learn about climate change?
 Hmmm...Let's ask a scientist!
Ms Katerina Karkanorachaki, Environmental Engineer (TUC) and Msc candidate on Waste Management (TUC), visited our school and  spoke to us about climate change. Definition, natural and human causes,effects/ future impact.... We tried  to fiigure out the solutions...

While it seems almost impossible (due to complexity)  to introduce kindergarteners in such a scientific field,  you can still teach it, if you break it down to the "basics"...

Children carefully attended our "scientific assosiate" and ask her questions about the climate change causes and effects... Ms Katerina, answered all the questions in a way that  kindergarten students could understand...  After her presentation, we started to fill in a KWL (Know-want to learn- Learn) chart... Her presentation gave us ideas to experiment the effect of global warming which are going to perform in DAY2!

We are so thankful Ms Katerina!

Global action days (9- 15 November) Teachers professional development day on school gardening November, 8th 2015

Growing a school garden is definitely one good way to reduce the effects of global warming and help the fight against climate change. ..
In order to do so,effectively, we, the teachers of the 1st Kindergarten of Mournies got training from people that take action on the field of organic cultivation of vegetables and shared good practices with other teachers within the local environmental network  'A garden at my school yard' run by 'Kpe Vamou'. We also had a chance to get networked with the relevant local authorities and  voluntary environmental groups that could help us in our school vegetable garden with their resources...
The training took place in our wonderful Park for the Preservation of Flora and Fauna in Chania/ Crete

Our Fall Scavenger Hunt in our eco schools yard, gave us the opportunity to observe, record, present and learn information about our school grounds ("grand tour"), in a playful, developmentally appropriate way.... 

We worked in pairs,  taking in mind the differentiated leanring approach.

When taking some time to reflect, kids seem to be very enthousiastic about the activity,  their work in pairs (collaboration), and their inferences.

Global Action Days For Our Eco 1st Kindergarten of Mournies

As members of the 
ECO SCHOOLS global network we share a common hope:

This year action plan  for our global action days (9- 15 November) will be focused on climate change.
