THE WORLD DAY OF ACTION - ECO SCHOOLS 2012
"ADOPT A STREET"
by the 1st Kindergarten of Mournies
ACTION: “ADOPT A STREET”
The 1st Kindergarten of Mournies, decided to adopt Pergamou street.
We invited parents, students from our neighbour schools, representatives of the local authorities and all together we went out on our street to take action!
Some of our main sub-actions were
- collect litter
- recycle paper/ plastic and batteries
- prepare compost
- re use soil that was left on the street to plant flowers into …. old car tires!
- plant more flowers
- host a world children’ s painting exhibition on Peace
- read books on Peace
- sing songs for responsibility and voluntarism
- clean out graffiti from our street and our signs
- inform the local community about our actions and call them to support us

teachers professional development day on Sustainability
On Saturday November the 3rd our school staff took part in the "Education for the Environment and Sustainability" workshop. Our participation meant to support our environmental education program "SUSTAINABLE SCHOOL"
